Advancing Innovation in ECA

From 9-11 October, ECAbit organises an internatinoal conference: "Role of Business Incubators in Innovation Development in Small and Medium Sized Towns", in Tambov, Russia. SENSI is invited and among others Nebojsa Simic of BSC Kragujevac will present during the conference.

Romir is one of the starting entrepreneurs supported by BSC Kosovo. BSC Kosovo presented the results and stories of starting entrepreneurs 8 months after they won the business plan competition.

In February 2008, Business Start-up Centres Kragujevac, Bitola and Zenica announced the winning participants of their first business plan competitions. The summaries and photo's of winning business plans are presented online. Winners will receive support reaching from access to loans of max. 10.000 Euro to 100 hours free consultancy, free registration of the enterprise, and access to the business incubator.

On 17 and 23 October 2007, the Business Start-up Centres (BSC) Bitola (Macedonia) and Zenica (Bosnia) awarded the five winners of the first round of the Business Plan Competition. Winners were awarded with vouchers worth 500 euros of coaching hours.

On 9th May, the winners of the first Business plan Competition organized by The University St. Cyril and Methodius Business Start-up Centre were announced. The winner is the industrial design company "AVG Design Studio".

SENSI became a formal Network

work group 3.jpg At the 4th SENSI meeting in Skopje-Ohrid, May 9-11, SENSI adopted a Statute, elected 7 Board members and selected Tuzla to be first host of the SENSI secretariate for the next 2 years. Although there are a lot of challenges ahead for this young network organisation, a poper basis has been created to start with activities towards members and their clients.

Representatives of successful business start-up and incubator networks in Europe and the United States participated at the seminar to share their experience with us.

Their insights into establishment and management of a business start-up centre and incubator network helped us to establish an effective organizational structure for SENSI.

SENSI publishes a list of relevant articles and documents in the field of Higher Education and Entrepreneurship for Bosnia & Herzegovina, Serbia, Macedonia, Montenegro, Kosovo and SEE in general. These are all relevant policy documents that can provide background materials when designing new activities or projects.

In conjunction with the 27th PODIM-conference on Entrepreneurship and Innovation, the Second SENSI Conference was held in Maribor, Slovenia. Over 25 representatives from Business Start up Centres, Incubators, Universities, economic institutions and international organisations visited the conference.
