The Business Angel and the Incubator as tools in the development of the SME PDF Print E-mail
In this report we will study the use of so called business angels, BAs, or individuals who provide knowledge and capital to support development of small firms at an early stage. We will also study different organisations that further the work of BAs, such as business angels networks and syndicates. Different issues in training and selection of BAs are also considered. The report studies the relationship between BAs and entrepreneurs, as well as the special support for the latters development in so called incubators. Some new organizational forms to further improve the stimulation of new business development are also proposed, as well as related public policy implications. The report demonstrates some important aspects in promoting the longterm competitive strength of Europe through entrepreneurship and growth of SMEs.
