The workshop was held by Akis Petropoulos, who is a socioeconomic development consultant with professional background in engineering. He has more than 10 years experience on EU and other international donors funded activities related to project identification, formulation and implementation in a number of former and actual EU pre-accession countries and has significant recent consulting experience in the Balkans.

The workshop started with an analysis of the up to now SENSI members' activities. He continued with samples of strategic project frameworks, where the Pre-Accession Assistance (IPA) was introduced. The focus was on the first two components:
1. Transition Assistance and Institution Building and the Component
2. Cross-Border Cooperation, which will be of use to the following countries: Serbia, BiH, Montenegro, FYROM, and Kosovo. In
addition to the EAR-EC funded programmes, there is a wide range of donors involved in support for economic and municipal development activities: UNDP, World Bank, EBRD, EIB, GTZ, KfW, SECO, SIDA and USAID. These programmes usually combine institutional capacity building activities with grants/loans for specific projects. At the end, he presented a successful concept note from the Technology park in Nova Gradiska.

The Assembly meeting started with the introduction of two new members:

1. Northeast Regional Development Association (NERDA) - Amra Jaganjac
2. Regional Development Agency for Central BiH Region (REZ) - Aladin Ormanovic

The meeting continued with presentation of the Activity plan 2009 and presentation of SENSI Manager, Aleksandra Obrenovic.  Activity plan 2009 was adopted by voting, where all 11 organizations present (find the participant list in Annex 1) voted in favour.  Further, the meeting continued with presentations and selection of Board member candidates. The following candidates applied for three Board member positions available: Dragana Radevic (CEED), Robert Martic (BIT Center Tuzla), and Krasniqi Besnik (BSC Kosovo). In addition, one application was received for the open position: Chairman of the Board from Nino Serdarevic (BSC Zenica). All applicants received the maximum number of votes.
