The workshop was held by Akis
Petropoulos, who is a socioeconomic development consultant with professional
background in engineering. He has more than 10 years experience on EU and other
international donors funded activities related to project identification,
formulation and implementation in a number of former and actual EU
pre-accession countries and has significant recent consulting experience in the
Balkans.
The workshop started with an analysis of the up to
now SENSI members' activities. He continued with samples of strategic project
frameworks, where the Pre-Accession Assistance (IPA) was introduced. The focus
was on the first two components:
1. Transition Assistance and Institution Building and the Component
2. Cross-Border Cooperation, which will be of use to the following countries:
Serbia, BiH, Montenegro, FYROM, and Kosovo. In addition to the EAR-EC funded programmes, there is a wide range of
donors involved in support for economic and municipal development activities:
UNDP, World Bank, EBRD, EIB, GTZ, KfW, SECO, SIDA and USAID. These programmes
usually combine institutional capacity building activities with grants/loans
for specific projects. At
the end, he presented a successful concept note from the Technology park in
Nova Gradiska.
The
Assembly meeting started with the introduction of two new members:
1. Northeast
Regional Development Association (NERDA) - Amra Jaganjac
2. Regional
Development Agency for Central BiH Region (REZ) - Aladin Ormanovic
The meeting continued
with presentation of the Activity plan 2009 and presentation of SENSI Manager,
Aleksandra Obrenovic. Activity plan 2009 was adopted by voting, where all
11 organizations present (find the participant list in Annex 1) voted in
favour. Further, the meeting continued with presentations and selection
of Board member candidates. The following candidates applied for three Board
member positions available: Dragana Radevic (CEED), Robert Martic (BIT Center
Tuzla), and Krasniqi Besnik (BSC Kosovo). In addition, one application was
received for the open position: Chairman of the Board from Nino Serdarevic (BSC
Zenica). All applicants received the maximum number of votes. Therefore, the
following General Assembly was selected:
