With the objective of focusing on direct poverty alleviation through the support of local institutional initiatives that support start-up companies as well as existing SMEs to create jobs, SPARK recently opened a request for proposals inviting innovative, results-oriented local not-for-profit organizations (business incubators, science and technology parks and business support centres or similar initiatives). This call for proposals is part of a SPARK programme supporting Business Start-Up Centres & Incubators in South-East Europe.

As we all agreed in the last SENSI workshop, the next step towards creation of the regional Business Angel Network is the Investment Readiness Survey. Therefore,YES Incubator from Skopje, Macedonia (www.yesincubator.org.mk) with a support of SENSI and ECAbit networks is currently conducting research on start-up's investment related needs in Macedonia, Serbia, Montenegro, Bosnia, Kosovo, Romania, Armenia and Bulgaria.
The SENSI workshop "Business Angel Networks and their role in financing
start ups" was organized by the SENSI Secretariat in cooperation with
BSC Kosovo. The workshop took place in Pristina (Kosovo) on 10 July
2009 and it was open to all existing and potential SENSI members.
Within the Summer University in Tuzla, the round table on: "Entrepreneurship and the Global Entrepreneurship Monitor” was held. It was attended by students, young entrepreneurs, as well as guests who presented their activities and experiences. SENSI and Business Start-up Centre Zenica presented mission, vision, and activities of their projects.
